My research interests lie in the field of computational physics, namely in the simulation and evaluation of the theoretical properties of materials at the quantum level. I specialise in quantum Monte Carlo, a powerful family of methods to accurately solve the Schrödinger equation that governs the behaviour of assemblies of quantum particles. The main focus of my work is to aid the advancement and further the applicability of quantum Monte Carlo by means of theoretical and technical developments, such as the design and implementation of novel trial wave function technology.

In Plain English

I write computer code so that other researchers can simulate the properties of materials. In turn, these simulations enable experimental physicists, chemists and engineers to predict which materials may have useful properties for a given purpose.
