How do I find out more?

The most recent review material can be found in the 2011 Psi-k Scientific Highlight of the Month "Petascale computing opens up new vistas for quantum Monte Carlo" (PDF) by M.J. Gillan, M.D. Towler and D. Alfè.

The latest large-scale review articles from our group (2009) are "Quantum Monte Carlo, or, how to solve the many-particle Schrödinger equation accurately whilst retaining favourable scaling with system size" by M.D. Towler (PDF), and "Continuum variational and diffusion quantum Monte Carlo calculations" by R.J. Needs, M.D. Towler, N.D. Drummond, and P. López Ríos (PDF).

There is also an earlier short review article from 2006 (which had its origin as another Psi-k Newsletter "Scientific Highlight of the Month" - it says here) entitled The quantum Monte Carlo method by Mike Towler. This can be found here (but it should be considered superseded by his 2009 one).

An older 2001 review article (PDF) by Matthew Foulkes, Lubos Mitás, Richard Needs and Guna Rajagopal.

There is also a very non-technical explanation of solid-state quantum Monte Carlo from 1998 here.

The freescience.info site has a large collection of material about quantum Monte Carlo here.

There is also a QMC Wiki site maintained by the QMC community - such as it is, which also contains a list of research resources or the main Wikipedia article on QMC.
