My Current Research
While I am interested in most topics in soft matter physics and
biophysics, currently the focus of my work is on understanding physical distribution networks in biological systems.
In particular, I am focusing on understanding the manner in which the drive towards optimization in multiple concurrent regimes, such as resilience to damage, affects the network statistics in plant leaves, and how networks with subtly different statistics that arise in this way might be modelled.
Understanding these networks at a level sufficiently fundamental to tease out the unifying features across different leaf or optimization classes could allow for generalization to many other biological distribution networks, notably human vasculature.
